| 中文摘要: | 本文旨在为“面临日益增加的环境不确定性及其带来的挑战,企业应如何提升创新绩效”这一重要话题寻找一些解决办法。在文献分析的基础上,结合资源基础观视角和实物期权视角,探讨期权型资源配置对企业创新的影响,研究的具体问题包括:期权型资源配置是否促进企业的创新绩效且环境不确定性是否在这一关系中发挥调节作用;期权型资源配置是否促进了探索式创新。当然,要解决这两个问题,还需对期权型资源配置的构成维度进行分析和归纳。 在研究过程中,使用了文献分析法、问卷调查法和定量分析法。本文研究过程如下:首先,通过对企业经营现实的观察和理论界的进展,构思出本文的研究主题:在不确定环境中,企业如何更好地推动创新、提升创新绩效。在研究主题的基础上,通过文献分析确定具体的研究问题。关于创新,资源基础观框架下的研究虽积累了丰富成果,但目光聚焦在资源本身对创新的影响,关于资源配置的对创新影响的研究却较为缺乏,另一方面,实物期权理论为研究应对不确定性提供了思路和方法,本文通过融合资源基础观和实物期权理论两种视角下的研究,并结合Klingebiel和Adner(2015)提出的期权型资源配置,将具体研究问题设定为:期权型资源配置对创新绩效和创新类型的影响。接下来,推导出理论模型和研究假设,在理论模型及研究假设中,环境不确定性对期权型资源配置与创新绩效间关系起调节作用。本文认为:期权型资源配置能正向促进创新绩效且这种促进作用受环境不确定性的正向调节,期权型资源配置能正向促进探索式创新。随后,进行研究设计,包括选定研究方法、设计变量测量方式与问卷,在预测试的基础上确定最终问卷。最后,通过回归分析对研究假设进行检验并得出主要结论。 实证研究结果表明所有研究假设均得到验证,具体来说,期权型资源配置及其各维度(资源配置宽度、渐进性、低初始承诺、资源再分配和选择性机制) 正向促进企业创新绩效,且环境不确定性在期权型资源配置及其各维度与创新绩效关系间起正调节作用;期权型资源配置及其各维度正向促进探索式创新。此外,实证研究还得到一个重要结论:与对创新的资源投入相比,资源配置对创新的影响更大。研究具有以下理论贡献:(1)提出了一个新的期权型资源配置概念模型,由资源配置宽度和选择性机制两个维度构成,这一模型是对Klingebiel和Adner模型的完善。(2)分析并检验了期权型资源配置的适用情境,这一情境即环境不确定性。(3)开发出测量期权型资源配置的新量表,可服务于今后学者们的研究。(4)拓展资源基础观框架下的研究视野,丰富了资源配置的研究成果。研究也给企业带来一些启示:(1)在创新过程中应重视对资源的配置。(2)企业可以通过建立期权型资源配置提升创新绩效,也可以利用期权型资源配置推动探索式创新。(3)期权型资源配置是有效应对环境不确定性甚至从环境中把握机遇的一个重要方法。 本研究还存在一些不足之处,主要包括:(1)尚未分析期权型资源配置促进创新绩效的内部机理性问题。(2)与期权型资源配置相匹配的组织情境,如组织结构、组织文化等问题在本文中并未得到探讨。(3)仅研究了期权型资源配置对探索式创新的影响,关于期权型资源配置对其他创新形式如开发式创新甚至新兴的迭代式创新的影响也未进行分析与验证。(4)未分析和检验期权型资源配置对企业竞争优势的影响。针对以上不足,未来研究方向包括:(1)通过案例研究深度剖析和归纳期权型资源配置对创新绩效的促进机制,并通过量化分析进行验证。(2)研究期权型资源配置的组织情境问题,开展高质量的案例与量化研究,为企业提供更具体和有效的指导。(3)分析与验证期权型资源配置对其他创新形式的影响。(4)分析和验证期权型资源配置对企业竞争优势的影响。 | |
| 英文摘要: | This article is aimed at find some solution for the topic: how firms can improve innovation performance facing the challenge and threaten caused by the increasing environmental uncertainty. On the base of document analysis and combined with resource-based view and optional view, this study discussed optional resource allocation’s influencing on firms’ innovation. The concrete questions focused in this paper is that can optional resource allocation improve firms’ innovation performance and environmental uncertainty’s moderating roles, what’s more, can this resource allocation mechanism promote exploratory innovation. Of course, to resolve the questions above, it’s needed to analyze dimensions of optional resource allocation. In the process of researching, document analyzing method, questionnaire survey and quantitative analysis are used in this paper. The researching process of this article is as follows: firstly, based on the observation of the reality of business and the development of the theory, this paper designed the studying theme that is how firms can promote innovation and improve innovation performance in uncertain environment. Then, the concrete researching questions are determined by documents analysis. The research about innovation under resource-based view has obtained rich achievements, however, researchers focus on the resource’s impact on innovation and ignore resource allocation more or less. On the other hand, real option theory provide researching on coping with environmental uncertainty with ideas and methods. By combining RBV and real option theory, and adopting option logic resource allocation proposed by Klingebiel and Adner, this article designed the concrete researching questions as optional resource allocation’ influencing on innovation performance and innovation style. Next, theoretical model and researching hypothesizes were deducted. In the theoretical model and researching hypothesizes, environment uncertainty moderates the relationship between optional resource allocation and innovation performance. It’s deemed in this paper that optional resource allocation can promote innovation performance and environment moderate positively the relationship between optional resource allocation and innovation performance. Then, quantitative researching design was conducted including researching methods, measurement of variables and questionnaire’s design. The final questionnaire was confirmed based of pretext. At last, this paper examined hypothesizes through regression analysis and got the study’s main conclusions. The results of empirical research shows that all the hypothesizes are verified. Specifically speaking, optional resource allocation and all of its dimensions, including breadth of resource allocation, sequencing, low initial commitment and reallocation, promote firms’ innovation performance, and environmental uncertainty moderate positively the relationship between optional resource allocation as well as all the dimensions and innovation performance. What’s more, optional resource allocation and all its dimensions promote exploratory innovation. The empirical research has another implication which is as follows: compared with resource inputs of innovation, resource allocation plays a more important role for innovation. This research has the following theoretical contributions: (1) proposes a new theoretical model of optional resource allocation which includes allocation breadth and selective mechanism; (2) analyzes and text the application context of optional resource allocation which is environmental uncertainty; (3) develops a new scale of measuring optional resource allocation which can be used for more researching; (4) extends RBV’s field of vision and enriches research findings of resource allocation. The research also has some implication for firms: (1) resource allocation should be paid attention in the process of innovation; (2) firms can improve innovation performance as well as promote exploratory innovation by constructing optional resource allocation; (3) Optional resource allocation is a helpful approach to coping with environmental uncertainty and seizing opportunities. There are also some deficiencies: (1) the concrete mechanism of optional resource allocation’s influencing on innovation performance has not been analyzed in this article; (2) the organizational context of optional resource allocation such as organization structure and culture has not been discussed; (3) optional resource allocation’s influencing on other style of innovations such as exploitative innovation has not been analyzed and examined; (4) the resource allocation’s influencing on competitive advantage has not been analyzed and examined. To solve these problems, future’s research will emphasize on the following topics: (1) analyze the mechanism of optional resource allocation’s influencing on innovation performance by case study and test the mechanism above by quantitative study; (2) research the organizational context of optional resource allocation and provide firms concrete and effective guidance; (3) analyze optional resource allocation’s influencing on other styles of innovation; (4) analyze the resource allocation’s influencing on firms’ competitive advantage. | |
