中文摘要：	近年来，以ERP软件系统作为企业管理平台已是企业发展到一定规模的必经之路。在这个全球经济环境、科学技术、商业模式快速变化和发展的时代，企业面临着无处躲藏的全面竞争。可以说ERP系统发展到今天，它代表着最先进，最完善，最实用的企业管理模式。没有一处业务不涉及到ERP系统的应用，企业所有的数据都依赖着ERP系统的存储，ERP系统控制着整个公司的物流，信息流，资金流。 从企业战术角度讲，ERP系统的一切都是关于企业的业务，为企业提供一整套的解决方案。从企业战略上讲，ERP系统帮助实现企业宏观目标和企业愿景，包括系统和数据、业务的集成和整合、改善运营报表和战略报表、改善业务或者适应新的业务模式转变。ERP系统对企业是如此重要，以至于我们必须严肃认真的认识它并且应用到最好。 本文以卡特彼勒ERP系统管理为研究对象。首先，文章介绍并回顾了ERP相关概念及当前发展，包括一些主流ERP系统产品的最新动态。其次，交待了卡特彼勒公司ERP系统上线背景及原因，从ERP系统管理团队、系统运维、用户支持及培训三方面分析了当前ERP系统管理的问题及改进的必要性。再次，文章先从ERP系统管理团队和服务平台入手，分别探讨了建立IT共享服务中心和整合服务平台的方案，并且提出具体的实施措施；然后探讨了卡特彼勒ERP系统生产运营及用户社区管理改进，提出将卡特彼勒生产系统应用到非订单到交付部门、及时共享ERP系统通用问题、在ERP社区应用商务社交Connection网络。 本文的研究目的旨在通过对卡特彼勒ERP系统管理改进研究，为类似规模企业ERP系统管理的改进提供可行的建议及思路，以此来更好的提供运营效率，从战术及战略角度支持企业发展，最终提高企业竞争力。
英文摘要：	Nowadays, ERP system as a common plant form for business management has become more and more important when enterprise has reached to certain scale. No company can avoid the full and open competition with rapid change and development of economic, technology and business module. ERP represents the most advanced, completed and operational module of business management. All is under the control and monitor of ERP, like logistics flow, information flow and data flow. From the perspective of tactics, ERP is providing an integrated solution for business; On the other hand, ERP is also helping company to realize their high level objective and long term version, through system and data, business integration, operation and strategy report consolidation, the capability for change and new business. The objective of the paper is Caterpillar ERP management. Firstly, it introduces the basic concept of ERP, including the most popular ERP product. Secondly, it covers the case of Caterpillar ERP project on background and current situation which look into ERP management team, system operation and maintenance, and user training and consultancy services. Thirdly, the paper talks about the ERP management team and service platform from the point of setting up IT shared service center and consolidated platform, and identifies the improvement opportunity. Lastly, it talks about the usage of Caterpillar Production System in non-production organization and ERP user community building, which refer to ERP common error and business social network Connection.
