中文摘要:学校图书馆(在国外被称作school library、school library media center、learning resource center等,在国内也被称作“中小学图书馆”)是中小学校的书刊资料信息中心,是为学校教育教学和教育科学研究服务的机构。国外学校图书馆的影响研究始自上世纪60年代,积累了丰富的研究成果,国外大量研究表明,学校图书馆对学生的考试成绩、综合能力表现有积极的影响和帮助价值。而国内学校图书馆的相关研究相对匮乏,在实践领域也未得到足够重视。本研究旨在参考国外研究思路,考察在中国目前的教育政策背景下,学校图书馆对学生考试成绩和综合能力(本研究合称其为学业表现)的价值。本研究包括三方面的内容,一是考察在我国目前的教育环境中,学校图书馆利用对学生的学业表现是否有影响;二是识别国内学校图书馆服务设计与其影响的关联;三是识别国内学校图书馆对学生学业表现的影响途径或帮助方式。在以实证方式调研国内一所服务相对规范的中学图书馆之后,本研究发现,在该校目前的教育状况下,学校图书馆利用与学生的学业表现之间不存在统计学意义上的相关关系;在学生和教师的感知中,学校图书馆对学生的学业表现有不同程度的帮助,但帮助效果并不明显;学校图书馆服务设计中只有三项能够对学生的考试成绩产生影响;学校图书馆对学生的影响途径主要是对其阅读能力的帮助,包括为学生提供书籍的方便获取、为学生提供阅读氛围、学生通过馆内书籍的阅读能够积累写作素材、馆内资料可以辅助学生完成社会实践等学业活动。本研究通过对教师的访谈分析及实地观察,认为导致本研究结论与国外差异较大的原因可能是,国内目前的教育状况(注重素质教育的形式、忽视真正的能力培养)掩盖并限制了学校图书馆价值的展现和发挥。 
英文摘要:School libraries are media recourse centers of primary, secondary and high schools, which serve the learning and teaching process, and educational science research. The impact studies of school library has begun since 1960s in the foreign countries, accumulating considerable results. A large number of researches show that school libraries have positive effects on students’ academic achievements and comprehensive capacities. However, in our country, such studies are quite lacking, and not be paid enough attention in practice area. Based on foreign researchers’ ideas, this paper aims to identify the value of school libraries in Chinese educational context. The research involves three contents: first, examine whether there is a positive relationship between usage of school libraries and students’ academic achievement; second, identify what services make this correlation possible; third, identify how school libraries help students. After the empirical study of one quality secondary school library, researcher finds that in the current educational context, the usage of school media center has no statistically relationship with students’ academic achievement; in the perspective of students and teachers, although school library does help students in different ways, the outcomes are not quite obvious; only three services provided by library could effect text scores; the school library mainly help improving pupils’ reading ability, which means provide easy access to books, provide space and atmosphere for reading, which may increase materials to students’ writing; and the collections may support students’ studying activities, such as social practice project. After interview with teachers and observation in the place, researcher believes that the reason about big differences between this result and foreign result, is China’s educational status covered and limited the value of school libraries, who pay more attention to the form of competence-based education than its connotation.
