| 中文摘要: | 在战略管理领域,针对不同企业间的差异一直有两种理论。传统的产业组织学派提出结构行为范式(SCP范式),将企业间的差异归于行业的特点,而资源基础学派则认为企业间差异归因于不同企业拥有不同的战略资源。1972年,Hunt教授首次提出了“战略群组”(strategic group)的概念,为分析企业间绩效差异提供了一种介于宏观行业和微观企业之间的分析工具。M. Porter(1979)在Hunt 的研究之上,提出了一套完整的战略群组理论,为战略群组的研究打下了坚实的基础。与此同时,学者们对战略群组的研究也不断升温,以战略群组为工具分析了多个行业竞争格局及绩效差异,得出了丰富而又不相一致的研究成果。 我国银行业从上世纪70年代末的改革开放至今,经历了三个阶段的市场化改革,成功实现了由“大一统”银行体系向现代银行体系的历史性转变,市场化程度和整体实力显著提升。由于历史原因,我国的四大国有商业银行先天规模庞大、分支机构众多,一直占据着行业的主导地位,而近年,伴随着金融改革的深入,股份制银行和城市商业银行异军突起、发展迅速。在这样的一个历史阶段,我国商业银行业的竞争格局有无变化、是否像其他行业一样存在战略群组、战略群组是否对企业绩效有影响是本文想要研究的问题。 本文首先梳理了大量的战略群组领域的理论文献,力求将该领域研究的发展阶段、战略群组的理论支撑、与相关领域的关联等全面地呈现出来。同时,本文以“战略群组”为关键词,搜集了学者们利用战略群组工具进行实证研究的诸多研究成果并进行了总结。在此基础上,本文提出了研究模型和假设,而后,以我国14家上市商业银行为研究样本,选取合适的战略维度和衡量每个维度的战略变量运用聚类分析的方法进行战略群组的划分,以检验我国商业银行业是否真实存在战略群组。在得到证实后,本文选取了能衡量现时绩效和长期绩效、财务绩效和非财务绩效的三个指标作为绩效变量,用单因素方差分析的方法检验战略群组与企业绩效是否相关。 最后,本文得出结论,我国商业银行业的确存在战略群组,影响战略群组划分的变量多为资源基础类的变量,且战略群组的聚类与各商业银行的性质密切相关。但是,总体而言,本文没有发现战略群组对企业绩效存在显著的影响,商业银行要提高绩效水平,更多地应该从建立自身的核心竞争力着手。 | |
| 英文摘要: | There have been two kinds of theories explaining the differences between different companies in the strategic management area. Traditional School of Industrial Organization has proposed the SCP Paradigm, which holds the view that industry causes differences between companies. However, the strategy management believes that these differences attribute to the variant resources owned by different companies. In 1972, Professor Hunt proposed a phrase named “strategic group”, which is used as a new method to analyze differences between companies. Based on Hunt, M. Porter developed a whole theory on strategic group. Meantime, researchers started to pay more and more attention on this new method. They did empirical study on all kinds of industries, and got rich yet different results. Bank industry in China has gone through three reforms since 1970s, and finally fulfilled its transform towards modern bank system. Due to historical reasons, the big four state-owned commercial banks have huge scales and large amount of franchises than others. As a result, these four banks have been dominating the whole industry. However, as the financial reform become deeper, joint-equity banks and city banks are developing at a very high speed. Under this situation, whether the completion has changed, whether strategic groups do exist in Chinese bank industry as in others, and whether strategic groups affects company performance are questions the author intends to solve. At the beginning, this study quotes and summarizes a great number of articles on both theories and empirical studies relating to the strategic group so as to display a whole panoramic view in this area. After that, a study model and two therapies are put up and tested by a sample of 14 commercial banks on listed in China. As to the procedure, the author first choose suitable variables tested by scholars before to represent company strategy, then use clustering analysis to examine whether strategic groups exist in bank industry. After this question is confirmed, the author use three variables representing company performance to test variances between companies in different groups. Finally, the study concludes that strategic groups do exist in Chinese commercial bank industry, and those variables affecting clustering are almost resource-based variables. The outcome of groups shows great relationship with the nature of these banks. Yet, there isn’t significant relationship between strategic groups and performance, which means that commercial banks must set up to build its own core competences different from others’ to improve its performance. | |
