Labor migration promoted the development of economy, in contrast, the rapid development of social economy increased the amount of population that transfer to the economically developed cities. The rapid development of China's social economy and enhancement of mobility mechanisms make large cities become the centers of the population flow. As China's political, cultural and transport center, Beijing is one of China's major cities of population flow. In Beijing’s floating population, there is a special group "Beijing vagabond" which mainly refers to the floating population with knowledge and skills and seek career opportunities in Beijing, but do not have a Beijing hukou (permanent residence). Every year many university graduates from other places come to Beijing and become the "Beijing vagabond". From the perspective of library and information science, the state of "Beijing vagabond" life provides a rare theoretical innovation context: information users live in highly uncertain situations of information act. This paper takes Southwest University 2004 grade graduates as the example to research daily information behavior of college graduates in Beijing. This paper focused on the study of information needs and information behavior of graduates in stages of adoption and stability. In the adaptation phase, the author analyzed three types of information behaviors under the situation of solving problems, overcoming difficulties and coping with discomfort. The author found that, in the adaptation phase, the main information needs for Beijing vagabond contain housing information, recruiting information, traffic information, shopping information and psychological needs. Classmates and network are main means to access to information. In case of problems, graduates will determined information demand and take the initiative to obtain information. In response to not adapted, the information act passively by the active steering. In difficult situations, the performance of information act of graduates is to actively access to information or to deliberately avoid information. In the relatively stable stage, the author investigates information needs and behavior in ordinary situations and problem situations. In ordinary situation, the information needs of graduates refer to their own interested information and their own closely related information, such as current events, social hot spots, sports and entertainment information, housing information, employment information and bank information. Information behavior in ordinary situations have no clear information needs, the ways of information acquisition are mainly to browse and search, that is, their own information is browsed and accessed from distributed source of information. By the use of the diary method, the author analyzed the information act of graduates in a stable phase. The information behavior in problem situation is the same as that in adaption phase, which are primarily to active access to information, in addition, information behavior may also obtain information by accident or by another person on behalf of access to information. Through the analysis of daily information behavior the various situations, the author found that information behaviors of graduates can be roughly divided into three categories: independent access to information, accident information obtained from another person. Network is the most important information sources for graduates. In the adaptation stage, the students are the most important information source to obtain information. In the relatively stable stage, roommate is the most convenient information source to access to information. Graduates rarely used print media access to information in daily life, and the use of public libraries is minimal.
