中文摘要:本研究采用文本分析方法与问卷调查方法对东莞市图书馆的公众形象以及图书馆推广活动对其形象的影响效果进行了评估。 研究建立在对2009年一年中《东莞日报》和《东莞时报》所刊载的274篇文章以及236份的东莞市市民调查问卷的数据分析上。研究引用了安德森和多尔特的图书馆角色模型,在该模型中,图书馆有4种角色:图书馆作为教育中心、信息中心、文化中心和社会中心。图书馆的这4种角色在媒体报道中和图书馆的活动与服务中均有体现。 研究发现,公共图书馆推广活动对于市民对图书馆的形象认知确实存在着影响,并且这种影响是正向的,即图书馆推广活动提升了东莞市市民对东莞市图书馆形象的认知。但是研究同时发现,推广活动对改变公众对于图书馆形象的认知的效果不是非常显著。将市民心中的图书馆形象与东莞市图书馆的资源、服务与活动所反映的功能形象相比较,市民对于图书馆功能的认知是不完整的。  
英文摘要:In this Master´s thesis, the effect of library’s promotional programs on the image of Dongguan public library is examined. Image of the public library in the local press and in the eyes of the public and reflected by the library’s resources and activities is detected. This study is based on an analysis of 274 articles, published in Dongguan Daily and Dongguan Times during the year 2009, and on Questionnaire of 236 Dongguan citizens. To analyse the articles and implement the Questionnaire survey Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hansen´s model of roles for the library has been used. The model includes four roles for the library: the library as a cultural centre, a education centre, an information centre and a social centre. These four roles all emerge both in the articles and in the Questionnaire through the activities being described. The findings of the research includes: The library’s promotional program do have some effect on the public perceptions of the library, but the effect is not significant. Social perception is not with the same as the library’s functional image.
