中文摘要:随着温室气体排放增加造成的气温变化、海平面上升、极端天气频发、生态系统失衡等全球性气候问题日益加剧,气候变化已经成为影响全球经济增长和社会发展的重要因素。为应对气候变化带来的挑战和风险,《联合国气候变化框架公约》缔约方大会(COP)陆续发布《京都议定书》《巴黎协定》等多项气候变化国际协定,成为世界各国参与全球气候治理的重要依据。与此同时,我国在推进绿色转型的基础上,提出“双碳”目标和《国家适应气候变化战略2035》,建设全国碳排放权交易市场,积极参与和引领全球气候治理。作为我国应对气候变化和参与气候治理的重要主体,中国跨国企业在国际扩张过程中,一方面需要严格遵守母国市场的环境政策和技术标准,如大气污染防治行动计划、环境保护法、绿色制造和绿色技术体系等,逐步推动企业生产经营活动的绿色低碳转型,为进入海外市场和整合全球资源提供支持;另一方面也需要结合海外市场碳排放监管和碳信息披露规则的动态变化,如欧盟碳边境调节机制(CBAM)、国际财务报告可持续披露准则(IFRS S2)、科学碳目标倡议(SBTi)等,快速响应海外市场利益相关者的气候变化需求,从而拓展海外业务规模和重塑全球竞争优势。在此背景下,中国跨国企业在海外市场如何识别绿色机会和构建绿色能力以实现国际扩张,成为学术界和实业界重点关注的议题。 现有文献探讨了跨国企业应对气候变化的理论基础、特征优势和战略类型,强调新兴市场绿色转型的市场追赶和技术追赶特征,以及中国企业主动响应环境规制和开展绿色创新的能力跃迁特征,为理解气候变化背景下中国跨国企业国际扩张提供了有益的理论洞见。然而,LLL模型、跳板理论、复合基础观等新兴市场企业国际化理论关注中国跨国企业国际扩张过程中的资源约束和制度劣势,一定程度上难以解释绿色转型情境下中国企业快速成长的环境治理能力及对其国际化绩效的作用机制。事实上,全球气候变化带来的挑战和风险重塑了中国跨国企业在海外市场的绿色机会发现范式和绿色能力构建机制,成为中国跨国企业快速实现国际化成长的关键因素。一方面,气候变化改变了原有的监管政策、客户需求和技术标准,促使中国跨国企业重新审视不同海外市场潜在的绿色机会;另一方面,面对母国市场绿色转型的多重压力和不同海外市场气候政策的复杂变化,中国跨国企业需要快速获取绿色知识和整合全球绿色资源以形成海外市场绿色动态能力。尽管已有研究关注到管理者警觉性在国际机会识别过程中具有的环境响应和认知激活作用,强调绿色动态能力对企业财务绩效和环境绩效的重要作用,但气候变化背景下中国跨国企业如何通过机会警觉推动海外市场绿色动态能力构建以提升国际化成长绩效的过程机制仍未得到充分的理论解释。 基于此,针对气候变化与中国跨国企业国际扩张的独特情境,本文构建并实证检验了“机会警觉—海外市场绿色动态能力构建—国际化成长绩效”的理论框架,揭示了气候变化背景下中国跨国企业机会警觉、海外市场绿色动态能力构建及其对国际化成长绩效的影响机制,主要研究结论包括:(1)机会警觉成为中国跨国企业在海外市场识别绿色机会的重要方式,为中国跨国企业国际化成长提供了必要的机会信息,其中制度机会警觉、市场机会警觉和技术机会警觉对不同维度的国际化成长绩效存在差异化的影响作用;(2)中国跨国企业通过绿色知识的获取和学习、绿色资源的整合和配置、绿色能力的进化和升级实现海外市场绿色动态能力构建,进而有效利用机会警觉所获取的潜在机会信息,并且中国跨国企业海外市场绿色动态能力构建在机会警觉和国际化成长绩效之间存在重要的中介作用;(3)知识连通性是气候变化背景下中国跨国企业国际扩张的内生性情境,在机会警觉和海外市场绿色动态能力构建之间存在重要的调节作用并呈现出较大的差异性;(4)制度复杂性是气候变化背景下中国跨国企业国际扩张的外生性情境,在海外市场绿色动态能力构建和国际化成长绩效之间存在重要的调节作用并呈现出较大的差异性。 本文理论贡献主要体现在以下四个方面:(1)基于气候变化带来的风险和挑战探讨了中国跨国企业机会警觉的维度特征和行为表现,解构了气候变化背景下中国跨国企业在海外市场的绿色机会发现范式,拓展了机会警觉理论在国际商务领域的解释边界,贡献于机会发现观和机会创造观在解释跨国企业识别气候变化机会方面适用性不足造成的理论缺口;(2)基于过程观和能力观视角解构了中国跨国企业海外市场绿色动态能力构建的过程机制,并提炼了合法性绿色动态能力和竞争性绿色动态能力两种绿色能力类型,为中国跨国企业在海外市场应对气候变化和环境问题提供了新的理论视角,响应了学者们对研究跨国企业能力构建和能力发展的呼吁;(3)构建了“机会警觉—海外市场绿色动态能力构建—国际化成长绩效”的理论框架,探讨了气候变化背景下中国跨国企业基于机会警觉和海外市场绿色动态能力构建的国际化成长路径,拓展了跨国企业应对气候变化和实现国际扩张的相关研究;(4)引入知识连通性和制度复杂性,探讨了不同情境条件下中国跨国企业机会警觉、海外市场绿色动态能力构建和国际化成长绩效之间作用关系的差异性,丰富了气候变化背景下中国跨国企业国际扩张的情境特征,补充了现有研究对中国跨国企业国际化成长情境考量不足造成的理解偏视。  
英文摘要:With the increasing greenhouse gas emissions causing global climate problems such as temperature changes, rising sea levels, frequent extreme weather events, and ecosystem imbalances, climate change has become an important influencing factor for global economic growth and social development. To address the challenges and risks brought by climate change, the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has successively issued multiple international agreements on climate change, such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, which have become an important basis for countries around the world to participate in global climate governance. At the same time, on the basis of promoting green transformation, China has put forward the "dual carbon" goal and the "National Adaptation to Climate Change Strategy 2035", established a national carbon emissions trading market, and actively participated in and led global climate governance. As an important entity in China's response to climate change and participation in climate governance, Chinese multinational enterprises need to strictly comply with the environmental policies and technical standards of their home markets during international expansion, such as the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan, Environmental Protection Law, Green Manufacturing, and Green Technology System, gradually promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of their production and operation activities, and providing support for entering overseas markets and integrating global resources; On the other hand, it is also necessary to combine the dynamic changes in carbon emission regulation and carbon information disclosure rules in overseas markets, such as the CBAM, IFRS S2, SBTi, etc., to quickly respond to the climate change needs of stakeholders in overseas markets, thereby expanding overseas business scale and reshaping global competitive advantages. In this context, how Chinese multinational corporations identify green opportunities and build green capabilities in overseas markets to achieve international expansion has become a key topic of concern for both academia and industry. The existing literature explores the theoretical basis, characteristic advantages, and strategic types of multinational corporations' response to climate change, emphasizing the market and technological catch-up characteristics of green transformation in emerging markets, as well as the ability transition characteristics of Chinese enterprises to actively respond to environmental regulations and carry out green innovation. This provides useful theoretical insights for understanding the international expansion of Chinese multinational corporations under the background of climate change. However, emerging market enterprise internationalization theories such as LLL model, Springboard Theory, and Composition-Based View focus on the resource constraints and institutional disadvantages in the international expansion process of Chinese multinational enterprises, which to some extent are difficult to explain the mechanism by which the environmental governance capacity of Chinese enterprises' rapid growth affects their internationalization performance in the context of green transformation. In fact, the challenges and risks brought by global climate change have reshaped the green opportunity discovery paradigm and green capability construction mechanism of Chinese multinational enterprises in overseas markets, becoming a key factor for Chinese multinational enterprises to achieve rapid international growth. On the one hand, climate change has changed existing regulatory policies, customer demands, and technical standards, prompting Chinese multinational corporations to re-examine potential green opportunities in different overseas markets; On the other hand, facing the multiple pressures of green transformation in the home market and the complex changes in climate policies in different overseas markets, Chinese multinational enterprises need to quickly acquire green knowledge and integrate global green resources to form green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets. Although previous studies have focused on the environmental response and cognitive activation effects of managerial alertness in the process of international opportunity identification, emphasizing the important role of green dynamic capabilities in corporate financial and environmental performance, the process mechanism of how Chinese multinational corporations can promote the construction of green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets through opportunity alertness to enhance international growth performance under the background of climate change has not been fully explained theoretically. Based on this, in response to the unique context of climate change and the international expansion of Chinese multinational enterprises, this article constructs and empirically tests the theoretical framework of "opportunity vigilance - construction of green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets - international growth performance", revealing the impact mechanism of opportunity vigilance and construction of green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets on international growth performance of Chinese multinational enterprises under the background of climate change. The main research conclusions include: (1) Opportunity vigilance has become an important way for Chinese multinational enterprises to identify green opportunities in overseas markets, providing necessary opportunity information for their international growth, among which institutional opportunity vigilance, market opportunity vigilance, and technological opportunity vigilance have differentiated effects on different dimensions of international growth performance; (2) Chinese multinational enterprises achieve the construction of green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets through the acquisition and learning of green knowledge, the integration and allocation of green resources, and the evolution and upgrading of green capabilities. They effectively utilize the potential opportunity information obtained through opportunity awareness, and the green dynamic capabilities of Chinese multinational enterprises in overseas markets play an important intermediary role between opportunity awareness and international growth performance; (3) Global connectivity is an endogenous context between climate change and the international expansion of Chinese multinational corporations. It plays an important moderating role and exhibits significant differences between opportunity awareness and the construction of green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets; (4) Institutional complexity is an exogenous context of climate change and the international expansion of Chinese multinational corporations. It plays an important moderating role and exhibits significant differences between the construction of green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets and international growth performance. The theoretical contribution of this article is mainly reflected in the following four aspects: (1) Based on the risks and challenges brought by climate change, it explores the dimensional characteristics and behavioral manifestations of opportunity vigilance of Chinese multinational enterprises, deconstructs the green opportunity discovery paradigm of Chinese multinational enterprises in overseas markets under the background of climate change, expands the explanatory boundary of opportunity vigilance theory in the field of international business, and contributes to the theoretical gap caused by the insufficient applicability of opportunity discovery and opportunity creation views in explaining the recognition of climate change opportunities by multinational enterprises; (2) Based on the perspectives of process and capability, this paper deconstructs the process mechanism of building green dynamic capabilities for Chinese multinational enterprises in overseas markets, and extracts two types of green capabilities: legitimate green dynamic capabilities and competitive green dynamic capabilities. This provides a new theoretical perspective for Chinese multinational enterprises to respond to climate change and environmental issues in overseas markets, and responds to scholars' call for research on the construction and development of capabilities for multinational enterprises; (3) We have constructed a theoretical framework of "opportunity vigilance - building green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets - international growth performance", explored the international growth path of Chinese multinational enterprises based on opportunity vigilance and building green dynamic capabilities in overseas markets under the background of climate change, and expanded the relevant research on multinational enterprises' response to climate change and international expansion; (4) By introducing global connectivity and institutional complexity, this study explores the differences in the relationship between opportunity alertness, green dynamic capability construction in overseas markets, and international growth performance of Chinese multinational enterprises under different situational conditions. It enriches the situational characteristics of international expansion of Chinese multinational enterprises under the background of climate change and supplements the understanding bias caused by insufficient consideration of the international growth context of Chinese multinational enterprises in existing research.
