| 英文摘要: | Faced with global climate change, tightening resource constraints, and deepening societal pursuit of equity, sustainable development has become an inevitable choice for the evolution of human civilization. As the world's second-largest economy, under the guidance of the "Dual Carbon Goals", China's economy is undergoing a profound transformation from high-speed growth to high-quality development. In this process, private enterprises play an irreplaceable role in driving economic growth, stimulating innovation, ensuring social employment, and improving people's livelihoods. They provide powerful momentum for implementing new development concepts, and their sustainable development capabilities directly impact national economic resilience, social stability, and the coordinated advancement of ecological civilization. However, private enterprises currently face multiple challenges including increasing transformation pressures, growing environmental uncertainties, and imperfect internal governance mechanisms, urgently requiring institutional innovation to establish long-term development mechanisms. The leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) constitutes the greatest advantage of socialism with Chinese characteristics. While Party organization participation in corporate governance is legally and institutionally guaranteed in state-owned enterprises, it remains voluntary in private enterprises. Nevertheless, such participation still plays crucial roles in strengthening political guidance, improving internal supervision, enhancing cultural development, and acquiring external resources. This study focuses on the unique governance model of Party organization participation in private enterprises and investigates its impact on corporate sustainable development performance. After reviewing relevant literature and building upon theoretical foundations including principal-agent theory, information asymmetry theory, resource dependence theory, upper echelons theory, and sustainable development theory, hypotheses were proposed. Using data of A-share listed private enterprises from 2013 to 2023, regression models were established to examine the relationship between Party organization participation in governance and sustainable development performance. The following conclusions are drawn: First, Party organization participation significantly enhances sustainable development performance in private enterprises, with robustness confirmed through substitution analysis and endogeneity tests. Second, the role of the participation of Party organizations in private enterprises in sustainable development performance is mainly achieved through improving the quality of internal control of enterprises and increasing government subsidies. Third, media attention and environmental uncertainties play a positive moderating role between the participation of Party organizations in private enterprises and sustainable development. This research enriches theoretical studies on the economic consequences of Party organization participation in private enterprise governance and factors influencing sustainable development performance. It provides both theoretical foundations and empirical evidence for optimizing Party organization participation mechanisms and enhancing corporate sustainable development performance. | |
