英文摘要: | The Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China listed data as the seventh production factor, data economy has become an indispensable part of China's economic system, and digital transformation has become an inevitable measure for Chinese enterprises to conform to the trend and maintain competitive advantages. The arrival of the novel coronavirus epidemic has had a serious impact on the normal development of China's economy and society, and also closed down the process of digital transformation of Chinese enterprises. Taking the COVID-19 epidemic as an example, this paper explores the impact of public health emergencies on enterprise digital transformation and its drivers. Firstly, this study constructs a keyword database related to enterprise digital transformation as a basis to measure the maturity of enterprise digital transformation. Secondly, taking A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2013 to 2022 as samples, the fixed-effect model regression is used to explore whether the impact of COVID-19 on the digital transformation maturity of Chinese enterprises is significant. Finally, on this basis, the data of sample listed companies are grouped into regression groups and the Shapley value is measured according to whether they are affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, and the influencing factors that drive or suppress the digital transformation of Chinese enterprises are discussed, as well as the changes of their influence before and during the epidemic. It is found that the impact of COVID-19 has a significant positive promoting effect on the digital transformation of Chinese enterprises, and the promoting effect on state-owned enterprises is more obvious than that on non-state-owned enterprises, and the promoting effect on central and western enterprises is more obvious than that on eastern enterprises. As for the influencing factors of enterprises' digital transformation, this study finds that the factors that are positively correlated with the maturity of enterprises' digital transformation include R&D investment, the number of technical personnel, and the educational background of employees. The negative correlation factors include the proportion of fixed assets, asset-liability ratio, loss or not. In addition, this study also found that during the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the internal resistance faced by enterprises to digital transformation was significantly reduced compared with that before the epidemic, indicating that the internal resistance to change would be significantly inhibited when faced with a huge external impact. In this study, we first constructed a digital transformation keyword thesaurus with 1002 terms, which is richer than existing research thesaurus and can measure the maturity of enterprises' digital transformation in a more comprehensive way.In addition, based on the quantitative study of the impact of COVID-19 on enterprise digital transformation, this study compares the contribution of the influencing factors of enterprise digital transformation before and during the COVID-19 epidemic for the first time. The research results of this paper are helpful to understand the internal mechanism of enterprise digital transformation and help Chinese enterprises effectively promote digital transformation.
