| 中文摘要: | 社会对环境、生态问题的持续关注,引发了人们对人与自然关系的深刻反思,传统的以资源消耗和环境污染为代价的粗放式经济增长方式已难以为继,而以资源节约和环境友好为特征的可持续发展理念逐步深入人心。企业作为经济社会的基础,是推动经济绿色高质量的关键主体,而绿色高质量的可持续发展要求企业不能只追求单一维度的经济绩效,而是要实现包容经济、环境和社会维度的可持续发展绩效。制造企业是中国工业化的支柱,同时也是资源消耗和高碳排放的重点行业,有更长的产业链条、更多的关联性及更高的环境负外部性,是我国实现双碳目标进程中不可或缺的重要市场参与主体,其可持续发展的成色与质量对中国整体经济发展的绿色低碳转型起着决定性作用。虽然部分制造企业抓住绿色机会窗口而成功实现了绿色转型,但更多的中国制造企业仍面临着严峻的可持续发展的挑战。 现有文献围绕企业可持续发展绩效的实现机制展开研究,衍生出利益相关者压力、网络嵌入、制度环境、战略导向、资源、能力等多个视角。近年来,越来越多的研究开始强调绿色动态能力的重要性;研究认为绿色动态能力能够推动企业进行绿色创新,改善环境绩效。在动态的商业环境中,绿色动态能力尤其对于企业整合内外部知识和资源、培育企业绿色组织能力具有关键作用。尽管已有研究为理解中国制造企业可持续发展绩效的实现提供了有益的理论洞见,但聚焦于单一视角对企业实现可持续发展绩效的解释力显然有限。其中,利益相关者的网络嵌入行为在可持续发展绩效实现过程中扮演何种角色,其影响企业实现可持续发展绩效的过程中如何助力绿色动态能力的形成,其内在关系机理及影响都有待进一步探究。在利益相关者网络嵌入方面,现有研究多聚焦于网络嵌入对传统经济绩效的影响,对其在双碳背景下如何作用于可持续发展绩效的研究仍然缺乏。在绿色动态能力方面,鲜有文献对利益相关者网络嵌入驱动绿色动态能力形成的内在机理做出有益的解释。 针对以上理论缺口和实践情境,本研究以双碳背景下中国制造企业为研究对象,以利益相关者网络嵌入为逻辑起点,探究可持续发展绩效的实现机理。研究重点关注以下三大问题:第一,企业的利益相关者网络嵌入如何影响可持续发展绩效的水平?第二,绿色动态能力在利益相关者网络嵌入与可持续发展绩效的关系中发挥了何种作用?第三,在利益相关者网络嵌入与可持续发展绩效的关系中,存在怎样的内外部权变因素的影响?特别是,高管环保意识和环境动态性是如何影响上述关系机制的变化的?为回答以上问题,本研究结合利益相关者网络嵌入、绿色动态能力、企业可持续发展绩效等相关理论与经验研究工作,采用探索性多案例研究与大样本实证分析相结合的研究方法,构建并检验了“利益相关者网络嵌入—绿色动态能力—可持续发展绩效”的关系框架,同时构建并检验了高管环保意识和外部环境动态性对上述关系机制的调节作用的关系框架,借以揭示双碳背景下中国制造企业可持续发展绩效的实现机理。 本论文的研究结论包括以下几个方面:第一,利益相关者网络嵌入是企业可持续发展绩效的重要驱动因素,其中,结构嵌入与关系嵌入均正向影响可持续发展绩效。第二,绿色动态能力表现为绿色机会感知、绿色资源获取和绿色能力重构三个方面,并在利益相关者网络嵌入与可持续发展绩效之间起着部分中介作用,并且不同的绿色动态能力维度在利益相关者网络嵌入与可持续发展绩效之间起到的中介效应程度不同。第三,高管环保意识是内部情境变量,在结构嵌入与绿色动态能力、关系嵌入与绿色动态能力之间均发挥正向调节作用。第四,环境动态性是外部情境变量,在绿色动态能力与可持续发展绩效之间具有调节作用且不同维度存在一定差异性:环境动态性在绿色机会感知与可持续发展绩效、绿色能力重构与可持续发展绩效之间有负向调节作用,而在绿色资源获取与可持续发展绩效之间没有显著的调节作用。 本研究的理论贡献主要有以下四个方面:第一,本研究构建并检验了“利益相关者网络嵌入—绿色动态能力—可持续发展绩效”这一理论框架,揭示了中国制造企业通过利益相关者网络嵌入与绿色动态能力实现可持续发展绩效的内在关系机理,丰富了可持续发展绩效的研究;第二,本研究扩展了网络嵌入理论的解释边界和使用范围,增加了在利益相关者网络与可持续发展领域中的应用,展现了结构嵌入与关系嵌入对可持续发展绩效的作用关系;第三,本研究进一步挖掘了绿色动态能力的构成,揭开了利益相关者网络嵌入影响可持续发展绩效的过程黑箱,深入剖析了绿色动态能力在两者间的中介作用,并基于过程视角,提炼了绿色机会感知、绿色资源获取和绿色能力重构三个关键维度,进一步丰富了绿色动态能力理论的研究;第四,将高管环保意识和环境动态性作为调节变量引入整体框架中,揭示了不同内外部情境下利益相关者网络嵌入、绿色动态能力与可持续发展绩效之间作用关系的差异性,一定程度上弥补了对于情境因素考量不足所造成的理解偏差,丰富了可持续发展绩效实现的边界条件研究。 | |
| 英文摘要: | With the continuous attention of society to environmental and ecological issues, people have begun to reflect deeply on the relationship between human beings and nature. The traditional extensive economic growth mode,which is at the cost of resource consumption and environmental pollution, has become unsustainable. Instead, the concept of sustainable development, characterized by resource conservation and environmental friendliness, has gradually taken root in the hearts of the people. As the foundation of the economy and society, enterprises are the key players in promoting green and high-quality economic development. Green and high-quality sustainable development requires enterprises not only to pursue single-dimension economic performance but also to achieve sustainable development performance that includes economic, environmental, and social dimensions. Manufactural firms are the pillar of China's industrialization and also a key industry with high resource consumption and carbon emissions. With longer industrial chains, more correlations, and higher negative environmental externality, they are indispensable market participants in China's process of achieving carbon peaking and neutrality goals. The quality of their sustainable development plays a decisive role in the green transition of China's overall economic development. Although some manufactural firms have successfully achieved green transition by seizing the green opportunity window, more firms still confront with grim challenges in sustainable development. Existing literature has conducted research on the implementation mechanism of sustainable development performance of enterprises, deriving multiple perspectives such as stakeholder pressure, network embeddedness, institutional environment, strategic orientation, resources, and capabilities. In recent years, more and more studies have begun to emphasize the importance of green dynamic capabilities; existing research has pointed out that green dynamic capabilities serve as a catalyst for enterprises to embark on green innovation and optimize environmental performance. In a dynamic business environment, green dynamic capabilities play a crucial role in particular for enterprises to integrate internal and external knowledge and resources and cultivate green organizational capabilities. Although existing research has provided useful theoretical insights for understanding the achievement of sustainable development performance in Chinese manufactural firms, the explanatory power of focusing on a single perspective to achieve sustainable development performance is obviously limited. Among them, what role does the network embeddedness behavior of stakeholders play in the process of achieving sustainable development performance, how does it help to form green dynamic capabilities in the process of influencing enterprises to achieve sustainable development performance, and the internal relationship mechanism and impact all need to be further explored. In terms of stakeholder network embeddedness, existing research has mostly focused on the impact of network embeddedness on traditional economic performance, and there is still a lack of research on how it affects sustainable development performance in the context of carbon peaking and neutrality. In terms of green dynamic capabilities, few studies have provided useful explanations for the internal mechanism of stakeholder network embeddedness driving the formation of green dynamic capabilities. In response to the above theoretical gaps and practical scenarios, this research takes Chinese manufactural firms in the context of dual-carbon aims as the samples, and explores the realization mechanism of sustainable development performance with stakeholder network embeddedness as the logical beginning. The research focuses on the following three major issues: First, how does the stakeholder network embeddedness of enterprise impact the level of sustainable development performance? Second, what role does green dynamic capability play in the relationship between stakeholder network embeddedness and sustainable development performance? Third, what are the influencing factors of internal and external contingency in the relationship between stakeholder network embeddedness and sustainable development performance? Specifically, how do executives' environmental awareness and environmental dynamism affect the changes in the above relationship mechanism? To answer these questions, this study combines relevant theories and empirical research work on stakeholder network embeddedness, green dynamic capability, and sustainable development performance of the firm, and adopts a research method combining exploratory multi-case studies and large-sample empirical analysis to construct and test the relationship framework of “stakeholder network embeddedness—green dynamic capability—sustainable development performance”. At the same time, it constructs and tests the relationship framework of the moderating effect of executives' environmental awareness and external environmental dynamism on the above relationship mechanism, aiming to reveal the realization mechanism of sustainable development performance of Chinese manufactural firms under the background of carbon peaking and neutrality. The research conclusions of this paper include the following aspects: First, stakeholder network embeddedness is an important driving factor for the sustainable development performance of enterprises, among which structural embeddedness and relational embeddedness both positively affect sustainable development performance. Second, the green dynamic capability is manifested in three aspects: green opportunity perception, green resource acquisition, and green capability reconfiguration, and it serves as a partial bridge between stakeholder network embeddedness and sustainable development performance, furthermore, different dimensions of green dynamic capabilities have different degrees of mediating effect between stakeholder network embeddedness and sustainable development performance. Third, executives' environmental awareness is an internal contextual variable that positively regulates the relationship between structural embeddedness and green dynamic capabilities, as well as the relationship between relational embeddedness and green dynamic capabilities. Fourth, environmental dynamism is an external contextual factor that plays a regulatory role between green dynamic capabilities and sustainable development performance, with certain differences among different dimensions: environmental dynamism has a negative regulatory effect between green opportunity perception and sustainable development performance, as well as between green capability reconstruction and sustainable development performance, while it has no significant regulatory effect between green resource acquisition and sustainable development performance. The four primary theoretical advancements of the study are outlined below: First, this study constructs and tests the theoretical framework of "stakeholder network embeddedness—green dynamic capability—sustainable development performance", revealing the internal relationship mechanism of how Chinese manufactural firms achieve sustainable development performance by means of stakeholder network embeddedness and green dynamic capability, thus enriching the research on sustainable development performance. Second, this study augmented the interpretive capabilities and domain of network embeddedness theory, increasing its application in the field of stakeholder networks and sustainable development, and demonstrating the relationship between structural embeddedness and relational embeddedness on sustainable development performance. Third, this study further explores the composition of green dynamic capability, uncovers the black box of the process of how stakeholder network embeddedness affects sustainable development performance, deeply analyzes the mediating role of green dynamic capability between the two, and extracts three key dimensions of green opportunity perception, green resource acquisition, and green capability reconfiguration based on a process perspective, further enriching the research on green dynamic capability theory. Fourth, this study introduces executive environmental awareness and environmental dynamism as moderating variables into the overall framework, revealing the differences in the relationship between stakeholder network embeddedness, green dynamic capability, and sustainable development performance under different internal and external contexts, to some extent compensating for the deviation in understanding caused by insufficient consideration of contextual factors, and enriching the research on boundary conditions for the achievement of sustainable development performance. | |
