中文摘要：	自助图书馆作为图书馆的一种新形态受到广泛重视并处于快速发展之中。但由于当前各地自助图书馆的建设管理没有统一的标准规范，存在着许多问题。关于自助图书馆社会功能的研究也较为零散，缺少系统的理论探讨。因此本研究将自助图书馆的社会功能作为研究重点，旨在丰富图书馆学理论的同时，为我国自助图书馆的建设实践提供参考，引导我国自助图书馆建设工作更加规范、有序地开展。 本研究综合了采用了网站调查法、专家访谈法和文本分析法，通过网站调查法获取相关政策法规和自助图书馆建设实践数据，通过专家访谈法获取公共图书馆专家对自助图书馆社会功能的观点，通过文本分析法对自助图书馆发展现状及其应具备的社会功能进行了探析。 本文在研究过程中对自助图书馆形态、建设主体和管理模式进行了分析，经过研究发现，自助图书馆应具备的功能主要有延伸和补充公共图书馆服务、提供个性化服务、助力城市文化建设、促进资源流通和深化社会合作。当前阻碍自助图书馆社会功能实现的因素有供需匹配度较低，宣传力度较弱，管理体系不健全，社会力量合作积极性不高等方面。自助图书馆要更好地落实其社会功能，在未来的发展中应更重视自身服务能力的提升，合理布局，实现供需均衡；加强宣传，主动融入公众生活；与时俱进，提高管理效能；统筹协调，加强合作。自助图书馆应与其他公共文化服务机构实现一体化发展，让自助图书馆成为社会公众生活里不可或缺的公共文化服务机构。
英文摘要：	As a new form of library, self-service library is widely valued and in rapid development. However, there are many problems in the construction and management of self-service libraries because of the lack of unified standards. The research on the social function of self-service library is also scattered, lacking systematic theoretical discussions. Therefore, this study focuses on the social functions of self-service library, aiming to enrich the theory of Library Science, provide reference for the construction practices of self-service library in China, and guide the construction of self-service library in China to be more standardized and orderly. This research adopts the methods of website survey, expert interview and textual analysis, obtains the relevant policies and regulations and the practical data of self-service library through websites, obtains the opinions of public library experts on the social functions of self-service library through expert interview, and probes into the development status and social functions of self-service library through textual analysis. This dissertation analysed the forms, construction subjects and management modes of self-service library. It is found that the main functions of self-service library are to extend and supplement public library services, provide personalized services, help the cultural construction, promote resource circulation and deepen social cooperation. At present, the factors that hinder the realization of self-service library's social functions include low matching of supply and demand, weak propaganda, imperfect management system, and negative social forces' cooperation. In the future development, the self-service library should pay more attention to the improvement of its service ability, make reasonable layout and balance supply and demand; strengthen publicity, actively integrate into public life; advance with the times, improve management efficiency; strengthen cooperation with other organizations. The self-service library should be integrated with other public cultural service institutions to make it an indispensable public cultural service institution in the public life.
